Books of Samuel

The Books of Samuel (Hebrew: Sefer Sh'muel ספר שמואל), are part of the Tanakh (part of Judaism's Hebrew Bible) and also of the Old Testament (of Christianity). The work was originally written in Hebrew, and the Book(s) of Samuel originally formed a single text, as they are often considered today in Hebrew bibles.

Le deuxième livre de Samuel est un livre classé parmi les Prophètes de la tradition juive et dans l'Ancien Testament chrétien. Il est entièrement consacré au règne de David qui unifie les tribus d'Israël et choisit Jérusalem pour y déposer l'Arche sainte. L'épisode fameux de David et Bethsabée figure au chapitre 11.

Das 1. Buch Samuel (abgekürzt 1 Sam) ist ein biblisches Buch des (jüdischen) Tanach  bzw. des (christlichen) Alten Testaments. Ursprünglich bildete 1 Sam zusammen mit dem 2. Buch Samuel eine Einheit. Der Name geht darauf zurück, dass es nach jüdischer Tradition von Samuel verfasst wurde. In der Septuaginta (und in Folge dessen auch in den Ostkirchen) heißt es 1. Buch der Königreiche. Seit dem Mittelalter wird das 1. Samuelbuch in 31 Kapitel unterteilt.

Potem występuje jako Prorok.Samuel jako nazirejczyk został oddany na służbę Bożą, gdzie stał się szanowanym „Widzącym”. Po Helim stał się, jak się później okazało, ostatnim sędzią Izraela.
