Bollywood

Bollywood (Hindi: , Urdu: ) is the informal name given to the popular Mumbai-based Hindi-language film industry in India. The term is often incorrectly used to refer to the whole of Indian cinema. Bollywood is only a part of the Indian film industry.The name is a portmanteau of Bombay (the former name for Mumbai) and Hollywood, the center of the American film industry. Though some deplore the name, arguing that it makes the industry look like a poor cousin to Hollywood, it seems likely to persist and now has its own entry in the Oxford English Dictionary.

Il s'agit de la composante la plus populaire du cinéma indien, le plus important au monde en nombre de films tournés. Der Hindi-Film wird in Mumbai (früher Bombay) produziert. Neben dem Tamilischen Film und dem Telugu-Film entstehen in dieser Sprache die meisten Filme in der indischen Filmindustrie. Als Synonym für die Hindi-Filmindustrie ist der umgangssprachliche Begriff Bollywood weit verbreitet. Dieser Begriff entstand in den 1970er Jahren und bezog sich ausschließlich auf Hindi-Unterhaltungsfilme, die wohl auf Grund ihres kommerziellen Charakters von einem indischen Filmkritiker in Anlehnung zu den Filmstudios von Hollywood in Kalifornien (USA) so betitelt wurden. Die Wortkreuzung Bollywood enthält daher die Bestandteile Bombay und Hollywood. Der Begriff Bollywood trifft bei indischen Bürgern und Filmschaffenden auf Kritik, weil sie ihre Studios nicht gerne mit den westlichen Filmstudios von Hollywood verglichen haben wollen. Indische Filme haben einen eigenen Charakter und nichts mit Hollywood-Filmen gemeinsam.

Bollywood Jest to umowna nazwa indyjskiego przemysłu filmowego ukuta podobno w latach 70. ze zbitki słów Hollywood i Bombaj przez dziennikarza pisma „Cineblitz”. Bombaj jest bowiem największym ośrodkiem produkcyjnym indyjskiej kinematografii. Nazwa Bollywood jest odnoszona do tego ośrodka, ale także rozszerzana na całe indyjskie kino rozrywkowe.

Col termine Bollywood, fusione di Hollywood e Bombay, si intende il cinema popolare in lingua hindi e occasionalmente in lingua urdu, con caratteristiche specifiche che lo differenziano sia dal cinema d'autore (sempre in lingua hindi) che dalle altre cinematografie indiane (tamil, malayalam, telugu e bengali), altrettanto ricche di produzione annuale di film e di talenti nei più svariati campi della cinematografia.
