In its broader meaning, it is often used to refer to the whole country, including Moravia and Czech Silesia especially in historical contexts.It has an area of 52,750 km² and 6.25 million of the Czech Republic's 10.3 million inhabitants. Bohemia is bordered by Germany to the southwest, west, and northwest, Poland to the north-east, the Czech historical region of Moravia to the east, and Austria to the south. Bohemia's borders are marked with mountain ranges such as the Bohemian Forest, the Ore Mountains, and the Giant Mountains within the Sudeten mountains.

Bohemia ist der Titel einer deutsch-tschechischen Zeitung (Tschechisch: Cesko-nemecké noviny BOHEMIA), die aus der Deutsch-Tschechischen Zeitung für gute Nachbarschaft hervorgegangen ist. Die Bohemia erscheint unter diesem Titel seit 2000. Die Archive befinden sich in der Nationalbibliothek der Tschechischen Republik.

Kraina ta zajmuje zachodnią część Masywu Czeskiego. Granice jej wyznaczają pasma górskie Sudetów, Rudaw, Lasu Czeskiego i Szumawy oraz Wyżyna Czesko-Morawska. Czechy graniczą od północy ze Śląskiem, z Łużycami i Saksonią, od zachodu z Bawarią, od południa z Dolną Austrią, od wschodu z Morawami.

La Boemia (Cechy in ceco, Böhmen in tedesco) è una regione storica dell'Europa centrale, che occupa i due terzi centrali e occidentali della Repubblica Ceca. Con un'area di 52.750 km² e 6.250.000 abitanti, la Boemia confina ad ovest con la  Germania (Baviera e Sassonia), a nord-est con la Polonia, ad est con la provincia ceca della Moravia e a sud con l'Austria.
