Bodensee

Lake Constance or Lake of Constance (German and Alemannic Bodensee) is a large lake on the Rhine between Germany, Switzerland, and Austria. It lies approximately at .Lake Constance was first mentioned by the Roman geographer Pomponius Mela about AD 43. He noted that the Rhine flows through two lakes, and gave them the Latin names Lacus Venetus (today Obersee) and Lacus Acronius (today Untersee). Pliny the Elder used the name Lacus Brigantinus, after the Roman city of Brigantium (today Bregenz). The lake is colloquially also known as the Swabian Sea (das Schwäbische Meer).

On décrit sous la désignation lac de Constance (Bodensee en allemand) les trois plans d'eaux que sont l'Obersee (« lac supérieur »), l'Untersee (« lac inférieur ») et le Seerhein (« Rhin de lac »), qui se trouvent au nord des Alpes à la frontière entre Allemagne, Suisse et Autriche. Il Lago di Costanza, o lago Bodanico, (in tedesco Bodensee, conosciuto anche ironicamente come Schwäbisches Meer) è un lago sul fiume Reno, posto al confine tra Germania, Svizzera e Austria.Il lago è posto a un'altitudine di 395 m sul livello del mare. La maggiore profondità è di 252 m, nel mezzo della parte orientale (Obersee). Il suo volume è approssimativamente di 55 km³. Il lago è diviso in quattro parti Obersee, Überlinger See, Zeller See e Untersee. Il Reno scorre attraverso l' Obersee, la città di Costanza e l' Untersee. Il fiume esce dal lago vicino a Stein am Rhein.
