Blohm & Voss

Blohm + Voss is a German shipbuilding and engineering works. It was founded on April 5, 1877, by Hermann Blohm and Ernst Voss as a general partnership named Blohm & Voss. A shipyard was built on the island of Kuhwerder, near the Free and Hanseatic City of Hamburg, covering 15,000 m² with 250 m of water frontage and three building berths, two suitable for ships of up to 100 metres length. The company's logo is a simple dark blue rectangle with rounded corners bearing the white letters "Blohm+Voss".

Firma została założona 5 kwietnia 1877 na wyspie Kuhwerder, prawie w Centrum Wolnego Hanzeatyckiego Miasta Hamburga. Obecnie zajmuje powierzchnię 15 000 m², posiada 250 m nabrzeży, 16 pochylnie do budowy statków o długości do 345 m. Firma buduje statki od 125 lat. W czasie II wojny światowej kompletnie zniszczona, obecnie buduje jednostki dla Deutsche Marine oraz na eksport. Wśród jej klientów znaczące miejsce zajmują firmy z branży off shore.

Blohm + Voss é uma construtora naval alemã com sede em Hamburgo. Actualmente, a Blohm + Voss é (juntamente com a Howaldtswerke em Kiel e Nordseewerke em Emden) uma subsidiária da ThyssenKrupp Marine Systems (TKMS). TKMS pertence à divisão "Technologies" da ThyssenKrupp. Dentro da TKMS, Blohm + Voss é responsável pelo desenvolvimento e pela construção de Iate de luxo e navios.
