Birla Institute of Technology Mesra, (Hindi: बिरला प्रौद्योगिकी संस्थान मेसरा ) (commonly known as BIT, Mesra or BIT, Ranchi) is a premier autonomous engineering institute located at Ranchi in India. It is a deemed university under Sec. 3 of the UGC act 1986. It was declared as one of the top 10 engineering institutes in the country in India Today-AC NIELSEN-ORG-MARG June 2005.
