Billboard Music Award

The Billboard Music Awards, sponsored by Billboard magazine and held annually in December, is one of several annual United States music awards shows (among the others are the American Music Awards, the Grammy Awards and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony).The BMAs (second of what are considered the "Big Three" music awards) have been held annually since 1990, and like the AMAs, this awards show honors winners based on popularity—in this case, based on Billboards year-end music charts, which are based on Nielsen data for sales, downloads and airplay. Awards are given for the top album/artist/single in every genre. Since 1992, the awards also held out a Billboard Century Award' which pays tribute to some of the classic artists in each decade.

Wichtigste Auswahlkriterien sind Hitparadenplatzierungen, Anzahl verkaufter Tonträger und die Radiopräsenz eines Interpreten. Billboard Music Awards jest jedną z czterech najważniejszych nagród przyznawanych corocznie w Stanach Zjednoczonych. Ceremonia wręczenia wyróżnień odbywa się co rocznie grudniu i jest emitowana od samego początku w stacji FOX. Pierwsza edycja wręczenia nagród Billboardu odbyła się w 1990 roku, i w jest "najpopularniejszym artystom/albumom/singlom. Zestawienie popularności jest oparte o na coroczny podsumowaniu Billboardu.

De Billboard Music Awards (BMA's) worden jaarlijks gehouden in december en is een van de vier grote muziekprijzen-shows in de Verenigde Staten. De andere drie shows zijn de American Music Awards, de Grammy Awards en de Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony.De Billboard Music Awards worden elk jaar sinds 1990 gehouden. Net als de American Music Awards worden de prijzen uitgereikt op basis van de populariteit in het tijdschrift Billboard.Sinds het begin worden de prijzen uitgezonden op het FOX netwerk.
