Belos (lateinisch Belus, griechisch Βῆλος) - die hellenisierte Bezeichnung für Baal - ist in der griechischen Mythologie König von Aigypten, der Sohn des Poseidon und der Lybia - die wiederum die Tochter des Epaphos und dadurch Enkelin der Io ist - somit der Bruder des Phöniziers Agenor.Mit Anchinoë, der Tochter des Flussgottes Neilos, zeugte er die Zwillinge Aigyptos und Danaos, von denen ein ganzes Heroengeschlecht abstammt. Auch Kepheus und Phineus sowie eine Tochter, Thronia werden als Nachkommen dieses Paares angegeben. Von Phineus wird allerdings auch erzählt, er sei der Onkel, Bruder oder - als Sohn des Agenor - Neffe des Belos gewesen. Belos gilt auch als mythischer Gründer Babylons.

Belus ist der sagenhafte Gründer von Babylon, wie Ninus des assyrischen Niniveh. Er wurde jedoch in babylonisch-assyrischer Zeit als Sonnengott verehrt. In spätbabylonischer Zeit wurde er mit Ba'al bzw. Marduk verschmolzen.

W mitologii greckiej:Belos - był synem Posejdona i Libii oraz bliźniaczym bratem Agenora. Mieszkał w Egipcie, gdzie poślubił Anchinoe, córkę boga Nilu, z którą spłodził Danaosa, Egyptosa, Fojniksa, Cefeusza, Tronię. Niektóre źródła podają, że jego potomkami byli także Kefeus i Fineus.Belos - król Tyru. Był ojcem m.in. Dydony, Anny, Pigmaliona i Tiasa.

Los Bellos o Belos eran un pueblo celtíbero afincado en la Hispania Tarraconense. Son citados en textos asociados con el rey de Iliria, así que se pensaba que eran de origen ilirio. Tienen una gran relación con los Titos y los Lusones, compartiendo la mayoría de características. Una ciudad importante es Nertóbriga que emite moneda de bronce en el III en las que aparece un jinete lancero. La más destacada sin embargo es Sekaisa (Segeda). Acuña moneda en torno al II. En el 154 amplía su territorio provocando las Guerras Celtibéricas.
