Belfast International Airport

Belfast International Airport (Irish: Aerfort Idirnáisiúnta Bhéal Feirste) is an airport located some 21 kilometres (13 miles) northwest of Belfast in Northern Ireland. It is also known as Aldergrove, after the village of that name lying immediately to the west of the airport. Belfast International shares its runways with the Royal Air Force base RAF Aldergrove, which otherwise has its own facilities. Over 5 million passengers (2.1% of passengers at all UK airports) travelled through the airport in 2006 (a 1.7 million/54.1% increase over 2000). Belfast International is the 11th busiest airport in the UK in terms of passenger numbers and it is the busiest airport in Northern Ireland. It is also the second busiest airport in all Ireland (after Dublin Airport's 21.1 million passengers). BIA serves 47 scheduled destinations with 15 domestic services and 32 European and transatlantic services. Belfast International Airport transatlantic flights include Newark, Orlando (with two airlines), Toronto (with two airlines), Vancouver and Halifax. Airlines Such as Easyjet, Aer Lingus, Jet2,First Choice and Mytravel Airways all base aircraft at the airport. There are chartered flights to Africa, Canada, the Caribbean, Mexico, the USA and many European destinations.The airport is owned by the same company (TBI) which owns -London Luton, Cardiff International Airport and Orlando Sanford Airport.

Belfast International Airport ist der größere der beiden Flughäfen der nordirischen Hauptstadt Belfast und liegt 25 km westlich der Stadt. Er wird auch Aldergrove Airport genannt. Aldergrove ist eine Gemeinde im Südwesten des Flughafens. Neben dem Flughafen liegt der Militärflughafen der britischen Luftwaffe RAF Aldergrove (RAF = Royal Air Force), der die selben Bahnen nutzt.

Il Belfast Airport è conosciuto anche come Aldergrove, dal nome del villaggio situato nelle immediate vicinanze. Il traffico di passeggeri dell'aeroporto ammonta a oltre 4,82 milioni (il 2,1 ei passeggeri di tutti gli aeroporti del Regno Unito) nel 2005 (aumentato del 54,1% rispetto ai 1,7 milioni del 2000). Belfast International Airport is een luchthaven bij de Noord-Ierse hoofdstad Belfast. Het heeft de code BFS. De luchthaven ligt ongeveer 20 km ten noordwesten van Belfast en wordt ook wel Aldergrove genoemd, naar het nabijgelegen dorp Aldergrove. Belfast International Airport deelt zijn landingsbanen met de militaire luchtbasis RAF Aldergrove; de rest van de infrastructuur is gescheiden.
