Belarusian language

The Belarusian or Belorussian language (беларуская мова, BGN/PCGN: byelaruskaya mova, Scientific: bjelaruskaja mova) is the language of the Belarusian people and is spoken in Belarus and abroad, chiefly in Russia, Ukraine, Poland. It belongs to the group of the East Slavonic languages, and shares many grammatical and lexical features with other members of the group. Its predecessor was the Old Belarusian language (up to the 19th cent., conventionally).

Le biélorusse (Беларуская мова en biélorusse) est une langue appartenant au groupe slave oriental de la famille des langues indo-européennes. Il est parlé, avec le russe (qui domine la vie publique notamment en milieu urbain), en Biélorussie (où il est langue officielle), en Pologne (Podlasie) et dans des communautés émigrées (notamment au Canada). Bien qu'étant langue officielle au même titre que le russe en Biélorussie, le biélorusse n'est pratiquement plus parlé dans les grandes villes du pays. Le régime actuel a d'ailleurs tendance à le considérer comme une langue rurale sans valeur.

Das Weißrussische (беларуская мова; neuere Bezeichnung Belarussisch, veraltet Weißruthenisch) wird nominell von ca. 7,9 Millionen Menschen als Muttersprache gesprochen. Von diesen lebt eine Minderheit in Polen bei Białystok, die Mehrheit jedoch in Weißrussland, wo es neben dem Russischen eine der beiden Amtssprachen ist.

La lingua bielorussa (беларуская мова, bjelaruskaja mova) è la lingua ufficiale della Bielorussia e viene parlata anche nelle terre immediatamente circostanti la nazione. Appartiene al sottogruppo orientale delle lingue slave, e perciò strettamente imparentata con il russo e l'ucraino anche se è stata molto influenzata dal polacco.
