This article is about the town in Constanţa County. There is another town in Dolj County, after which it is named the Basarabi Culture. Basarabi ( is a town in Constanţa County, Romania. The locality was named Murfatlar until 1924 and between 1965–1980; on June 26, 2007 the lower house of Romania's Parliament, the Chamber of Deputies, approved a proposal to have the name changed back to Murfatlar , which remains to be ratified by the Senate and promulgated by the president of Romania.
