Barquisimeto

Barquisimeto is the capital city of the State of Lara located in west central Venezuela, halfway between Caracas and Maracaibo on the Turbio River. Coordinates: . The city has strong agroindustrial (the large-scale production, processing, and packaging of food using modern equipment and methods) roots, being surrounded by a sugar cane valley and near two of the largest vegetable-producing regions in Venezuela: the Valle de Quíbor (Quíbor Valley) and Sanare. First founded by Don Juan de Villegas in 1552 and named Nueva Segovia de Variquisimeto, the site of the city was later moved to several places until 1563, when the town finally settled in its present location. Today Barquisimeto is a modern city, the fourth most populated in the country, and is situated in the middle of Venezuela's west-central axis of communication, industry and agriculture.

Barquisimeto ist eine Großstadt in Venezuela.Ihr voller Name lautet "Nueva Segovia de Barquisimeto". Sie ist die Hauptstadt des Bundeststaates Lara. Sie wurde 1552 von dem Spanier Juan de Villegas gegründet.Barquisimento ist die viertgrößte Stadt in Venezuela. Die Stadt liegt etwa 564 Meter über den Meerspiegel und 351 km von Caracas in Richtung Maracaibo. Barquisimeto wird im Westen durch ein sehr trockenes und im Osten durch ein subtropisches Gebiet begrenzt. Im Süden der Stadt finden sich Berge, welche zu den Andenformationen gehören und das Klima positiv beeinflussen. Die durchschnittliche Tagestemperatur liegt bei 29°, die Nachttemperatur bei 16°. Über das Jahr hinweg gibt es nur kleine Variationen der Temperatur. Der Fluss Turbio fließt am südlichen Rand der Stadt und ist umgeben von Zuckerplantagen.

Obecnie stanowi ważny ośrodek przemysłowy (włókienniczy, cementowy, cukrowniczy, garbarski, ceramiczny) i handlowy (kawa, cukier, kakao i rum) tej części kraju.
