The Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam was founded by Dr. S.V. Balasubramaniam in 1996. The college lies besides the Bhavani River with the Western Ghats as the backdrop. The college runs under the leadership of its director Dr. S K Sundararaman and Principal Dr.A. Shanmugam.It has a number of departments and schools: Computer Applications, Applied Sciences, Mathematics, Physical Sciences, Information Technology, Computer Science and Engineering, Biotechnology, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Textile Technology, Fashion Technology, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering.
