Bacau
Bacau (, , ) is the main city in Bacau County, Romania. As of 2011 census, it has a population of 133,460, making it the 15th largest city in Romania. The city is situated in the historical region of Moldavia, at the foothills of the Carpathian Mountains, and on the Bistrita River (which meets the Siret River about to the south of Bacau). The Ghimes Pass links Bacau to Transylvania.

Bacau
Bacău (dawniej po polsku znane jako Baków) to miasto we wschodniej Rumunii, ośrodek administracyjny okręgu Bacau, nad Bystrzycą, w pobliżu jej ujścia do Seretu. Liczy około 171 tys. mieszkańców.
1591 - papież Sykstus V mianował biskupa Curtea de Argeş na Wołoszczyźnie. Jego siedziba przeniesiona została do Bacău po tym jak poprzednią zniszczyli Turcy. Biskup Bacău nie wchodził do senatu, rezydował w Śniatynie. Biskupami byli Polacy. Miasto zostało założone w V w.
