A fixture in the FC Bayern München and national-team defence over the past few seasons, Babbel is a classy ball-playing defender. He is set to move to Liverpool FC after Euro 2000 after spending virtually all his career with Bayern. He can play as a right-sided marker in a three-man defence, at right-back or even on the right of midfield. An excellent man-to-man marker who is also adept at bringing the ball out of defence, Babbel starred in Germany’s Euro 96 triumph. In addition, he has won the Bundesliga title, as well as the UEFA Cup.
