Barenaked Ladies (often abbreviated BNL or occasionally BnL) is a Canadian alternative rock band currently composed of Jim Creeggan, Kevin Hearn, Steven Page, Ed Robertson, Tyler Stewart, and formerly Andy Creeggan. They formed in 1988 in Scarborough, Ontario, at the time a suburb of Toronto. They are best known for their hit singles, "One Week", "Pinch Me", "If I Had $1000000", and "Brian Wilson", and for their light-hearted, comedic performance style. The band's trademark at live shows is humorous banter between songs, and improvised raps/songs, both of which are staples at virtually every concert.

Barenaked Ladies est un groupe alternatif de rock canadien. Il a été formé en 1988 à Scarborough, en banlieue de Toronto. Leurs albums sont parmi les plus vendus en Amérique du Nord. Ils sont connus pour leurs tubes One Week, Pinch Me, If I Had $1000000 and Brian Wilson, ainsi que pour leur style de concert léger et comique. Leur marque de fabrique pendant la plupart de leurs concerts consiste en de petits discours comiques entre les chansons, ainsi que des chansons (parfois des raps) complètement improvisées. Ils sont aussi les interprètes du générique de la série américaine The Big Bang Theory.

Barenaked Ladies (kurz BNL) ist eine kanadische Rockgruppe aus Toronto.Bekannt wurden die 1988 gegründeten BNL außer durch ihre rein musikalische Fähigkeit auch durch ihre witzigen, ironischen Texte, die zum Teil sprechgesangsartig vorgetragen werden. Vor allem in Kanada und den USA erfreuen sie sich großer Beliebtheit, der große Durchbruch in Europa blieb jedoch aus. Ihre bekanntesten Singles sind Pinch Me, If I Had $1000000, Brian Wilson und One Week, letzterer machte sie auch im deutschsprachigen Raum bekannt. Ein nicht unwesentlichen Teil ihres Erfolges verdanken die BNL ihren Live-Auftritten, die eine Mischung aus Musik und Klamauk sind, nicht umsonst gehört die Band zu den beliebtesten Live-Bands Nordamerikas.

Barenaked Ladies (krótko BNL) to kanadyjski zespół rockowy. Tworzą go Kevin Hearn, Ed Robertson, Steven Page, Tyler Stewart oraz Jim Creeggan. Powstał w 1988 w Scarborough w Ontario (na przedmieściach Toronto).Zespół początkowo tworzyli Steven Page i Ed Robertson. Kontrowersyjna nazwa zespołu, to twór ich młodzieńczego szaleństwa. Powstała, gdy jako nastolatkowie na koncercie Boba Dylana wymyślali najgłupsze nazwy dla zespołów.Do zespołu wkrótce po powstaniu dołączyli bracia Creegganowie, a następnie Kevin Hearn. Andy Creeggan wyjechał potem na dłuższy czas i na perkusji zastąpił go Tyler Stewart. Zespół występuje w tym składzie do dnia dzisiejszego.
