Die Bayerische Motoren Werke AG (BMW) ist ein deutscher Hersteller von Automobilen, Motorrädern und Motoren. Der Hauptsitz des Unternehmens befindet sich in München. Im Jahr 2006 erzielte es bei einem Umsatz von 48,999 Mrd. Euro einen Nettogewinn von 2,874 Mrd. Euro. Weltweit beschäftigt der Konzern 106.575 Mitarbeiter und fertigte 1.373.970 Automobile (davon 1.185.088 der Marke BMW) sowie 100.064 Motorräder. Die  Aktie des Unternehmens ist im DAX der Deutschen Börse notiert.
