BILL OF PARTICULARS

In law, a Bill of Particulars (most commonly used with "Demand") is a list of written questions from one party to another about details of a claim or defense. See Example It is abbreviated B/P by lawyers, which may cause confusion with the medical abbreviation for blood pressure.A bill of particulars may be used in either criminal defense or in civil litigation.In criminal law, the defense attorney or public defender requests the bill of particulars from the district attorney. However, the D.A. can not request the same of the defense. This request may be part of an omnibus motion, motion in limine or similar motion or writ.
