Axt
Die Axt, obd. auch Hacke, ist ein Werkzeug und besteht im allgemeinen aus einem stählernen Keil, der auf einem Holzstab – dem Stiel oder Schaft – befestigt ist. Im Unterschied zum Beil wird die Axt üblicherweise mit beiden Händen geführt. Der Keilwinkel der Axt beträgt etwa 10°. Ihre Form ergibt sich aus dem Anwendungsfall. Quer geschäftete Geräte werden als Dexel bezeichnet. Sie wird heutzutage nurmehr zur Bearbeitung von Holz verwendet.
