Avid Technology, Inc. is an American company specializing in video and audio production technology; specifically, digital non-linear editing (NLE) systems, management and distribution services. It was created in 1987 and became a publicly traded company in 1993. Avid is headquartered in Burlington, Massachusetts.

Avid Technology, Inc. ist eine 1987 gegründete US–amerikanische Aktiengesellschaft mit Sitz in Tewksbury, Massachusetts (USA), die Produkte für Film, Video, Audio, 2D- und 3D-Animation, Special Effects, Videogames und Streaming Media herstellt. Das Unternehmen ist seit 1993 börsennotiert. Die deutsche Niederlassung befindet sich in Hallbergmoos bei München. Produkte des Unternehmens wurden mit mehreren Emmy Awards sowie 1998 mit einem Oscar in der Kategorie Wissenschaft und Technik prämiert.

Avid Technology - powstała w 1987 roku firma technologiczna będąca twórcą oprogramowania oraz sprzętu do nieliniowej edycji obrazu i dźwięku. W 1997 roku zaprezentowała prototyp systemu do nieliniowej edycji wideo, będący początkiem linni produktów o nazwie Avid.
Najbardziej znanymi produktami firmy są Avid Media Composer oraz Avid Xpress DV.
Avid Media Composer to kompletny system profesjonalnej nieliniowej edycji wideo, który z racji swej prostoty i filozofii działania stał się standardem na światowym rynku edycji filmowej i telewizyjnej. Składa się on z zaprojektowanego specjalnie na potrzeby systemu sprzętu oraz oprogramowania. Stworzony "przez montażystów dla montażystów", zyskał wiele dowodów uznania, jak choćby statuetkę Oscara, którą w 1994 roku wręczono twórcom systemu w kategorii "Osiągnięcia Naukowe i Techniczne".
