Autonoë

For other uses of the name Autonoë see Autonoe (disambiguation). In Greek mythology, Autonoë (Greek ) was a daughter of Cadmus, founder of Thebes, Greece, and the goddess Harmonia. She was the wife of Aristaeus and mother of Actaeon and possibly Macris. In Euripides' play The Bacchae, she and her sisters were driven into a bacchic frenzy by the god Dionysus when Pentheus, the king of Thebes, refused to allow his worship in the city. When Pentheus came to spy on their revels, Agave, the mother of Pentheus and Autonoë's sister, spotted him in a tree. They tore him to pieces.

Autonoë ist in der griechischen Mythologie eine Tochter des Königs Kadmos von Theben und der Harmonia, die Gattin des Aristaios und die Mutter des Aktaion und der Makris, die die Amme des Dionysos war.Damit war sie die Schwester der Semele, der Agaue, der Ino, des Polydor und des Illyrios. Es war Autonoë, die die Knochen des Aktaion zusammenlas, als er von seinen eigenen Hunden zerrissen worden war. An anderer Stelle taucht der Name Autonoë als Name einer Nereide auf.

Autonoe è un personaggio della mitologia greca, figlia di Cadmo e di Armonia. Fu moglie di Aristeo, da cui ebbe un figlio, Atteone.Secondo il mito, durante una crisi estatica, Autonoe uccise Penteo, con Agave e Ino, poiché lo credeva una belva feroce.
