Autoexec.bat

AUTOEXEC.BAT is the name of a system file found originally on the MS-DOS operating system. It is a plain-text batch file that is located in the root directory of the boot device. The name of the file is a portmanteau of the words "automatic" and "execution", which describes its function in automatically executing commands on system startup; the portmanteau was coined in response to the 8.3 filename limitations of the FAT file system family.

AUTOEXEC.BAT est le nom d’un fichier système rencontré à l’origine dans le système d’exploitation MS-DOS. Il s’agit d’un fichier batch de type .bat (fichier de commandes au format texte) situé à la racine du périphérique sur lequel l’ordinateur démarre. Le nom du fichier vient de la concaténation des mots "automatic" et "execution", décrivant ainsi sa fonction qui est d’exécuter automatiquement des commandes dès le démarrage du système. Le mot AUTOEXEC a également été créé de façon à respecter la règle de nommage du système de fichiers FAT qui impose un format 8.3 (c’est-à-dire 8 caractères, un point, 3 caractères).

Znajduje się on w katalogu głównym uruchamianego systemu plików/partycji.Plik uruchamiany jest jednorazowo przy starcie systemu, po przetworzeniu pliku CONFIG.SYS (choć w niektorych systemach jest możliwe wyłaczenie jego przetwarzania).
