Austin Rover

The Austin Rover Group (ARG) was formed in 1981 as the mass-market car manufacturing subsidiary of British Leyland (BL). ARG was the end result of a comprehensive restructuring programme intended to rescue BL from almost-certain oblivion, and with the MG, Triumph, Morris, Riley and Wolseley marques now effectively dead, the new, leaner car business was rechristened as the Austin Rover Group.

Die MG Rover Group war bis 2005 der größte unabhängige britische Automobilhersteller und stellt den Nachfolger der einstmals staatlichen British Leyland dar, die eine sehr wechselvolle Geschichte von Fusionen und Privatisierungen hinter sich hat.

Ο Όμιλος Austin Rover (ARG - Austin Rover Group) ήταν μία βρετανική αυτοκινητοβιομηχανία, η οποία δημιουργήθηκε από τη British Leyland Motor Corporation (Μπρίτις Λέιλαντ Μότορ – BL) και λειτούργησε από το 1982 μέχρι και το 1987. Η ARG ήταν το αποτέλεσμα ενός εκτεταμένου προγράμματος αναδιοργάνωσης και σωτηρίας της British Leyland από τη χρεοκοπία.
