Audio Emphasis

In FM (Frequency Modulation) transmission systems audio emphasis in the baseband signal path as a filter whose function is to change the level to frequency characteristic of the baseband signal. The assumption in this type of transmission system is that the effects of high frequency noise which is a characteristic of the transmission system can be reduced by increasing the transmitted baseband high frequencies and complementary attenuation of the receive baseband high frequencies.
