Die Atmosphäre [] (von griechisch ατμός, atmós „Luft, Druck, Dampf“ und σφαίρα, sfära „Kugel“) ist die gasförmige Hülle um einen Himmelskörper. Sie besteht meistens aus einem Gemisch verschiedener Gase, die vom Schwerefeld des Himmelskörpers festgehalten werden können. Die Atmosphäre ist an der Oberfläche am dichtesten und geht in großen Höhen fließend in den interplanetaren Raum über.
