Association of Space Explorers

The Association of Space Explorers is a non-profit organization with a membership composed of people who have flown in outer space. It was formed in 1985, and the current membership stands at about 300. The organization provides a forum for the promotion of space exploration, as well as space science and engineering, environmental awareness, &c. It is an international organization with members from 30 different nations.

L'Association des Explorateurs de l'Espace (en anglais : The Association of Space Explorers) est une association à but non lucratif dont les membres sont exclusivement composés de personnes ayant volé dans l'espace. Elle a été fondée en 1985, et compte actuellement (2008) environ 300 membres, de plus de 30 nationalités différentes. Cette organisation travaille à la promotion de l'exploration spatiale, et de la science, de l'ingéniérie, et de la protection environnementale qui y sont liés.

Die Association of Space Explorers (ASE) ist ein von mehreren amerikanischen Astronauten und russischen Kosmonauten gegründeter nichtstaatlicher internationaler Verein. Das erste Treffen der Gründungsmitglieder fand 1983 in Putschino (Ort in der Nähe von Moskau) statt. Die Teilnehmer dieser Zusammenkunft (unter anderem Russel Schweickart, Mike Collins, Ed Mitchell, Aleksej Jelissejew, Aleksej Leonow, Witalij Sewastjanow und Walerij Kubassow) einte „die grundlegende Sorge und persönliche Verantwortung für die Erhaltung und den Schutz der Natur der Erde“.
