The Association for Psychological Science (APS), previously the American Psychological Society, is a society for scientific
psychology, whose mission is to "promote, protect, and advance the interests of scientifically oriented psychology in research, application, teaching, and the improvement of human welfare." As a nonprofit organization, it is "dedicated to the advancement of scientific psychology and its representation at the national level." To this end, it holds annual meetings and publishes several journals, and works with government agencies to promote scientific psychology.

Die Association for Psychological Science (APS) wurde 1988 als American Psychological Society und zweite grosse Psychologenorganisation der USA (neben der
American Psychological Association) gegründet. Den heutigen Namen erhielt sie am 1.1.2006, um die wissenschaftliche Mission und den internationalen Wirkungsbereich deutlicher herauszustreichen.
