Artemis

In Greek mythology, Artemis (Greek: (nominative) , (genitive) ) was the daughter of Zeus and Leto and the twin sister of Apollo. She was usually depicted as the maiden goddess of the hunt, bearing a bow and arrows. Later she became associated with the moon, as her brother was with the sun.She was one of the most widely venerated of the gods and manifestly one of the oldest deities (Burkert 1985:149). In later times she was associated and considered synonymous with the Roman goddess Diana. In Etruscan mythology, she took the form of Artume. Deer and cypress are sacred to her.

Artemis (altgriechisch ; neugriechisch Aρτεμίς) ist in der griechischen Mythologie die Göttin der Jagd, des Mondes, Waldes und die Hüterin der Frauen und Kinder. Ferner zählt sie zu den zwölf großen olympischen Göttern und ist damit eine der wichtigsten Gottheiten des Goldenen Zeitalters.

Artemida (gr.  Artemis, dopełniacz Artemidos, także Cynthia) – w mitologii greckiej bogini łowów, wielka łowczyni, dlatego na wielu rzeźbach i obrazach przedstawia się ją z jeleniami, lub w lesie. Zsyłała także nagłą śmierć na kobiety w połogu. Jej atrybutami był łuk i strzały, a ulubionym zwierzęciem łania. Należała do grona 12 bogów olimpijskich.

Artemide (in greco: Ἄρτεμις, Ἀρτέμιδος), nella mitologia greca è figlia di Zeus e Latona, sorella gemella di Apollo. Fu una tra i più venerati dei dell'Olimpo oltre ad essere una delle divinità la cui origine può essere fatta risalire ai tempi più antichi . In epoche successive la sua figura fu associata alla dea Diana della mitologia romana, mentre nella mitologia etrusca prendeva il nome di Artume. Il cervo e il cipresso erano i suoi simboli sacri.
