The Ardennes (; ) is a region of extensive forests, rolling hills and ridges formed within the Givetian (Devonian) Ardennes mountain range, primarily in Belgium and Luxembourg, but stretching into France (lending its name to the Ardennes department and the Champagne-Ardenne région), and geologically into the Eifel. In Wallonia, the word 'Ardenne' in the singular is commonly used for the Belgian part of the region and in the plural for the French one. Ardenne is the origin of the great industrial period of Wallonia, the second of the world (18th, 19th and 20th centuries). In France, the word 'Ardennes' in the plural, together with the definite article, is commonly used to refer to the French department of that name.

Die Ardennen (auch: Ardenner Wald, von keltisch Arduenna für Hochland) sind der Westteil des Rheinischen Schiefergebirges.

De Ardennen (Frans: Ardennes, Waals: Årdene) vormen een bosrijk laaggebergte in oostelijk België (het grootste deel van Wallonië), Noord-Luxemburg en een klein stukje aangrenzend Frankrijk.
Het is de westelijke uitloper van een massief van leisteen waartoe ook het ten oosten van de Ardennen in Duitsland gelegen Eifelgebergte behoort.

Ardeni (limba celtă: Arduenna = podiş, în , în ) este o regiune din vestul Munţilor şistoşi din grupa Mittelgebirge. Partea cea mai mare a regiunii se află în sud-estul Belgiei, în rest se întinde şi în Luxemburg şi Franţa  (Departamentul Ardennes). Regiunea are un relief deluros împădurit delimitat de râurile Moselle şi Maeuse care la nivelul râului Sambre trece treptat în câmpia Flandrei. La nord-est de Ardeni se întinde platoul Hautes Fanges (692 m), care e separat de Eifel numai din punct de vedere politico-administrativ. Altitudinea medie a regiunii este de 550 m punctul cel mai înalt a regiunii se află în nord la „Baraque de Fraiture” (652 m) situat în provincia valonă Luxemburg din Belgia.
