Arctic Wolf

The Arctic Wolf (Canis lupus arctos), also called Polar Wolf or White Wolf, is a mammal of the Canidae family, and a subspecies of the Gray Wolf. Arctic Wolves inhabit the Canadian Arctic and the northern parts of Greenland.

Der Polarwolf oder Weißwolf (Canis lupus arctos) ist wohl die am wenigsten bekannte Unterart des Wolfes (Canis lupus) und zählt auch zur Hundefamilie (Canidae). Da er in einer sehr unwirtlichen und menschenfeindlichen Gegend lebt, ist immer noch viel über sein Leben unerforscht.

Wilk polarny (Canis lupus arctos) - jeden z największych podgatunków wilka. Charakteryzuje się grubą, białą sierścią i to jest jego główna cecha wyrózniajaca. W ramach wilka arktycznego oprócz formy typowej wyróżnia się jeszcze:wilka Banksa (C. l. a. bernardi) - duża forma geograficzna wilk arktycznego zamieszkująca wyspę Banksa i   wyspę Wiktorii na obszarze Terytoriów Północno-Zachodnich. Smukły i długonogi z ciemniejszą sierścią na grzbiecie.wilka grenlandzkiego (C. l. a. orion) - jedna z form wilka arktycznego, prawdopodobnie wymarła, zamieszkiwał Grenlandię.wilka z wyspy Baffina (C. l. a. manningi) - najmniejszy spośród wilków arktycznych, zamieszkuje Ziemię Baffina.
