Arctic Ocean

The Arctic Ocean, located in the northern hemisphere and mostly in the Arctic north polar region, is the smallest of the world's five major oceanic divisions and the shallowest. The International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) recognizes it as an ocean, although some oceanographers may call it the Arctic Mediterranean Sea or simply the Arctic Sea, classifying it as one of the mediterranean seas of the Atlantic Ocean. Alternatively, the Arctic Ocean can seen as the northernmost lobe of the all-encompassing World Ocean.

L'océan Arctique, ou océan glacial Arctique, s'étend sur une surface de , ce qui en fait le plus petit océan. Il recouvre l'ensemble des mers situées entre le pôle Nord et le nord de l'Europe, de l'Asie et de l'Amérique. Il communique avec le nord de l'océan Atlantique, recevant de grandes masses d'eau à travers la mer de Barents et le détroit de Fram. Il se trouve aussi en contact avec l'océan Pacifique à travers le détroit de Béring.

Der bis 5608 m tiefe Arktische Ozean (auch Nordpolarmeer oder Nördliches Eismeer genannt) ist mit 14,056 Mio. km² der kleinste Ozean der Erde. Er wird manchmal auch als Nebenmeer des Atlantischen Ozeans betrachtet und liegt in der Arktis.

Ocean Arktyczny, Morze Arktyczne, Ocean Lodowaty Północny – najmniejszy i najpłytszy ocean na Ziemi, uznawany dawniej za część Oceanu Atlantyckiego. Rozciąga się wokół Bieguna Północnego w Arktyce, między kontynentem Eurazji, a Ameryką Północną. Z Oceanem Spokojnym łączy go Cieśnina Beringa.

Il mare Glaciale Artico è situato interamente nella regione del Polo Nord. Occupa un bacino approssimativamente circolare ed occupa un'area di circa 14 090 000  chilometri quadrati. Quasi racchiuso dalla terraferma, questo mare è circondato dalle terre di Europa, Asia, Nordamerica e Groenlandia (per un totale di 45 389 km di linee di costa), e da numerose  isole. Ai suoi bordi si trovano alcuni mari periferici: mare di Barents, mare di Beaufort, mare di Chukchi, mare di Kara, mare di Laptev, mare Siberiano Orientale, mare di Lincoln, mare di Wandel, mar di Groenlandia, e il mar di Norvegia.
