Arabic script
The Arabic script is a writing system used for writing several languages of Asia and Africa, such as Arabic, Persian, and Urdu. Even until the sixteenth century, it was used to write some texts in Spanish. After the Latin script, it is the second-most widely used alphabetic writing system in the world.

Arabic alphabet
The Arabic alphabet ( ) or Arabic abjad is the Arabic script as it is codified for writing the Arabic language. It is written from right to left, in a cursive style, and includes 28 letters. Because letters usually stand for consonants, it is classified as an abjad.

Arabisches Alphabet
Das arabische Alphabet (, al-abdschadiyya al-ʿarabiyya) ist u. a. das Alphabet der arabischen Sprache und besteht aus 28 Buchstaben. Zur Bildung von Wörtern werden mit sechs Ausnahmen alle Buchstaben entsprechend der Laufrichtung der arabischen Schrift von rechts nach links verbunden.

Alphabet arabe
L'alphabet arabe est l'alphabet utilisé pour écrire, entre autres, la langue arabe. Bien que très souvent désigné comme un alphabet, à la manière de l'écriture d'autres langues sémitiques, c'est généralement un abjad, terme décrivant un système d'écriture ne notant que les consonnes de la langue (ou peu s'en faut). Cet alphabet comporte 28 lettres.

Alfabet arabski
Alfabet arabski - alfabetyczne pismo używane do zapisu języka arabskiego. Powstało z nabatejskiej odmiany pisma aramejskiego.
Najstarsze zabytki pochodzą z IV wieku n.e. (inskrypcje z Rammu i An-Namara). Istnieje wiele odmian pisma arabskiego. Do najważniejszych należą pismo kwadratowe (kufickie) i okrągłe (naschi). Pismo arabskie rozpowszechnione jest w krajach muzułmańskich.
Zapisywane jest z prawa na lewo. Ma 18 podstawowych znaków, które po uzupełnieniu jedną, dwiema lub trzema kropkami tworzą 28 liter oznaczających spółgłoski oraz samogłoski długie i dyftongi. Samogłoski krótkie są w piśmie arabskim pomijane, dlatego jest ono klasyfikowane jako abdżad. Czasami stosuje się jednak na ich oznaczenie dodatkowe znaki samogłoskowe (w arabskich elementarzach i w Koranie).
