Apostles Creed

The Apostles' Creed (Latin: Symbolum Apostolorum or Symbolum Apostolicum), sometimes titled Symbol of the Apostles, is an early statement of Christian belief, a creed or "symbol." It is widely used by a number of Christian denominations for both liturgical and catechetical purposes, most visibly by liturgical Churches of Western tradition, including the Latin Rite of the Roman Catholic Church, Lutheranism, the Anglican Communion, and Western Orthodoxy. It is also used by evangelical Protestant denominations such as Presbyterians, Methodists, Congregationalists and many Baptists.

Apostolski symbol wiary (łac. credo - wierzę), w skrócie Symbol Apostolski (potocznie: Skład apostolski, Wierzę w Boga) to jedno z najwcześniejszych i najprostszych sformułowań chrześcijańskiego wyznania wiary.Według legendy średniowiecznej Symbol Apostolski został skomponowany przez dwunastu apostołów w dniu Zesłania Ducha Świętego tak, że każdy z apostołów wygłosił jeden z dwunastu fragmentów Symbolu. Jednak najwcześniejsze wzmianki o Symbolu Apostolskim pochodzą z przełomu IV i V wieku, a czas jego powstania jest niepewny. Jego obecna forma wykształciła się zapewne w efekcie długotrwałego procesu historycznego między II a VI wiekiem.

De apostolische geloofsbelijdenis (ook wel Apostolicum genoemd of De Twaalf Artikelen van het Geloof) is een van de centrale geloofsbelijdenissen uit het christendom. De apostolische geloofsbelijdenis is de eenvoudigste van de geloofsbelijdenissen. In tegenstelling tot de andere heeft het Apostolicum een liturgische achtergrond en is het niet het product van een intern  christelijke theologische strijd over de rechte leer.
