Anti-Flag

Anti-Flag is an American political punk band from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, consisting of four members: Justin Sane (lead guitar, lead vocals), Chris #2 (bass, vocals), Chris Head (rhythm guitar, backing vocals), and Pat Thetic (drums). "Being the only punks in Glenshaw, Pennsylvania", guitarist Justin Sane and drummer Pat Thetic decided they were faced with either "hanging out at the mall, doing drugs, or playing punk rock", they chose the latter and Anti-Flag was born. Despite multiple line-up changes, political ideologies, and a strong following as an independent band, Anti-Flag gained popularity among the punk community, ultimately releasing six albums on various independent labels (ranging from A-F Records, to Fat Wreck Chords, to Go Kart Records). In 2006, the band signed onto RCA Records.

Anti-Flag est un groupe de punk hardcore Américain formé à  Pittsburgh en 1988. En 1994 ils signèrent avec le label New Red Archives pour leur premier album : Die For The Government sortit le 12 septembre 1995, ils signèrent ensuite avec A-F Records pour leurs albums suivants. La musique d'Anti-Flag contient un vaste étalage d'idéaux libertaires et exprime une forte résistance contre le fascisme ; les organisations religieuses et le nationalisme. Politiquement, Anti-Flag est comparable au groupe de Los Angeles : Rage Against The Machine. L'un des quelques groupes boycottés à la suite des attaques terroristes du 11 septembre 2001. Les appels d'Anti-Flag à la paix et à l'unification après ces attaques furent impopulaires dans l'élan de nationalisme entretenu par le gouvernement Bush. Le groupe est souvent assimilé comme anti-patriotique et anti-américain par beaucoup, mais la détermination d'Anti-Flag s'est uniquement endurcie. Anti-Flag est un groupe de plus en plus populaire aux États-Unis malgré sa position politique. Ce groupe est aussi très populaire en Europe, au Canada (spécialement à Montréal) et dans d'autres pays du monde.

Anti-Flag - amerykański zespół punkrockowy mocno zaangażowany politycznie, o przekazie ukierunkowanym lewicowo, a nawet socjalistycznie, czego wyrazem są teksty piosenek. Powstał w roku 1988 w Pittsburghu za sprawą Justina Sane'a i Lucy Festera. Ich muzyka oscyluje między punk rockiem a hardcore punkiem. Melodyjne utwory oraz charakterystyczny głos wokalisty Justina powodują, że styl zespołu trudno porównać do jakiegokolwiek innego.

Gli Anti-Flag sono un gruppo punk rock di natura politica, fondato da Justin Sane e Pat Thetic a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania nel 1988.
