Anthrax (band)

Anthrax is an American, New York City-based thrash metal band, who released their first full-length album in 1984. Anthrax was one of the most popular bands of the 1980s thrash metal scene and are notable for combining metal with rap and hardcore music early on. They have sold over 10 million albums worldwide. They are generally classified as one of the "big four" of thrash metal alongside Metallica, Megadeth, and Slayer.

Anthrax est un groupe de thrash metal américain fondé par Scott Ian (le beau-fils de Meat Loaf), Dan Lilker et John Connelly en 1981 (les deux derniers cités se retrouvèrent ensuite dans Nuclear Assault). Il fut un des groupes les plus populaires de la scène thrash, au début des années 1980. À la différence de nombreux groupes pionniers de ce style (Metallica, Slayer, Megadeth, Exodus, Dark Angel…), Anthrax n'est pas originaire de Californie (la célèbre Bay Area), mais de New York. Ils sont reconnus comme l'un des quatre groupes de thrash metal les plus influents (Big four) avec Metallica, Slayer, et Megadeth. Ils ont vendu plus de 10 millions d'albums à travers le monde.

Anthrax ist eine Thrash-Metal-Band, die 1981 in New York um den Gitarristen Scott Ian gegründet wurde. Die Band war stets bemüht, sich vom Rest der Szene abzusetzen, was sich nicht zuletzt in ihrem genreuntypischen Kleidungsstil äußerte (Bermudashorts, Chucks, generell sehr bunt).Die Musik der Band ist bis zum Ausstieg von Joey Belladonna im Jahr 1992 als klassischer Speed-/Thrashmetal zu bezeichnen, nachzuhören auf Platten wie Among the Living oder State of Euphoria. Anthrax galten als eine treibende Kraft bei der Zusammenführung von Rock und Rap (Crossover). So waren sie es, die 1986 noch vor Aerosmith und Run DMC ein Crossover in Form von „I'm the Man“ machten.

Wąglik (łac. anthrax) – choroba zakaźna, zaraźliwa, wywoływana przez Gram-dodatnią bakterię nazywaną laseczką wąglika (Bacillus anthracis). Znany już od czasów starożytnych, występuje na całym świecie. Wąglik występuje najczęściej u bydła, koni, owiec i kóz. Świnie rzadko chorują. Psy cechuje znaczna odporność. L'antrace è un'infezione acuta causata dal batterio Bacillus anthracis. L'antrace generalmente si manifesta come malattia endemica in animali erbivori selvatici o domestici, ma può anche svilupparsi nell'uomo, per esposizione ad animali infetti, tessuti di animali infetti o inalazione di spore. Non sono mai stati registrati casi di trasmissione da uomo a uomo. Il termine deriva dal greco , che significa "carbone", dal colore nero delle lesioni cutanee che si sviluppano nelle vittime di questa infezione. Un altro nome dell'antrace a localizzazione cutanea è, tra l'altro, "carbonchio".
