Andaman Islands
The Andaman Islands are a group of Indian Ocean archipelagic islands in the Bay of Bengal, between India to the west and Burma to the north and east. Most of the islands are part of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Union Territory of India, while a small number in the north of the archipelago belong to Burma.

Andamanen
Die Andamanen sind eine zum indischen Unionsterritorium Andamanen und Nikobaren gehörende Gruppe aus 204 Inseln in der Andamanensee, die etwa 300 Kilometer südsüdwestlich von Kap Negrais an der Westspitze der Irawadi-Division von Myanmar (Birma) liegt. Die Gesamtfläche der Inseln beträgt 4.120 Quadratkilometer, ihre Bevölkerung etwa 250.000, davon nur noch 500 Ureinwohner.

Îles Andaman
Les Îles Andaman forment un archipel situé dans le Golfe du Bengale et administrativement rattachés au territoire indien des Îles Andaman et Nicobar. La ville de Port Blair est la plus grande ville des Îles Andaman et la capitale administrative du territoire. Les îles comptent 314 239 habitants. Le nom Andaman provient de Handuman la forme malaise du nom du dieu hindou Hanuman.

Andamany
Andamany - archipelag leżący na Oceanie Indyjskim pomiędzy Zatoką Bengalską a Morzem Andamańskim. Wchodzi w skład indyjskiego terytorium związkowego Andamany i Nikobary.
Archipelag długości 352 km i szerokości do 51 km składający się z 576 wysp z których 26 jest zamieszkałych. Od Nikobarów oddziela je Kanał Dziesiątego Stopnia. Andamany zajmują powierzchnię 6408 km² i zamieszkuje je 314 239 mieszkańców (2001). Stolica i główny ośrodek Port Blair.
Główna część archipelagu to Wielki Andaman. Jest to skupiona na obszarze długości 251 km grupa wysp, z których trzy największe to: Andaman Północny, Andaman Środkowy i Andaman Południowy. Na wschód od niego grupa mniejszych wysp tworzy Archipelag Ritchie, natomiast na południe leży czwarta duża wyspa archipelagu Mały Andaman, oddzielona pięćdziesięciokilometrową Cieśniną Duncan, stanowiącą główny szlak morski przez wyspy. Najdalej na wschód wysuniętą wyspą archipelagu, oddaloną 135 km od Wielkiego Andamana, jest wyspa Barren, będąca wierzchołkiem czynnego wulkanu.

Andamanen
De Andamanen zijn een eilandengroep in de Golf van Bengalen, die behoren tot Indiaas grondgebied. Ze zijn een onderdeel van het unieterritorium Andaman en Nicobar, waarvan de hoofdstad Port Blair is. De eilanden boven de 10e breedtegraad zijn de Andamanen, de eilanden daaronder zijn de Nicobaren. Deze eilandengroepen zijn tijdens een vloedgolf op 2e kerstdag 2004 verschrikkelijk getroffen; men gaat er van uit dat verschillende inheemse stammen op deze eilanden in omvang op dramatische wijze zijn geslonken.
