Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station
The Amundsen–Scott South Pole Station is the American scientific research station at the Geographic South Pole, the southernmost place on the Earth. The station is located on the high plateau of Antarctica at an elevation of 2,835 meters (9301 feet) above sea level.

Amundsen-Scott-Südpolstation
Die Amundsen-Scott-Südpolstation ist eine US-amerikanische Forschungsstation in der Antarktis. Sie wurde nach den beiden Südpolpionieren Roald Amundsen und Robert Falcon Scott benannt und liegt in 2.835 Metern Höhe auf dem Inlandeis, wenige hundert Meter vom geographischen Südpol entfernt. Sie wurde 1956 für das Internationale Geophysikalische Jahr gegründet und im Laufe der Zeit immer wieder erweitert.

Amundsen-Scott
La station américaine d'Amundsen-Scott Pôle Sud (de son nom complet Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station) est située par , soit, à 250 mètres près environ, au Pôle Sud. Ceci en fait le lieu habité le plus au sud du monde. Elle a été nommée ainsi en l'honneur des deux explorateurs Roald Amundsen et Robert Falcon Scott qui atteignirent le Pôle Sud pour la première fois respectivement en 1911 et 1912 à quelques semaines d'intervalle.

Amundsen-Scott
Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station - amerykańska stacja naukowo-badawcza w Antarktydzie Wschodniej, na biegunie geograficznym, na wysokości 2835 m. Została założona w 1957 w ramach Międzynarodowego Roku Geofizycznego na południowym biegunie geograficznym Ziemi, na wysokości 2800 m.
Miąższość lądolodu w rejonie stacji wynosi 2810 m (stacja zlokalizowana częściowo pod lodem). Amundsen-Scott jest zaopatrywany drogą lotniczą. Średnia roczna temperatura powietrza wynosi -49,3°C, maksymalnie -14,7°C natomiast minimalnie -78,9°C, a średnia roczna prędkość wiatru - 6,5 m/s. W stacji noc polarna trwa 6 miesięcy. Amundsen-Scott z racji położenia służy jako baza transkontynentalna dla ekspedycji naukowych.
