Amharic language

Amharic (አማርኛ āmariññā) is a Semitic language spoken in North Central Ethiopia by the Amhara. It is the second most spoken Semitic language in the world, after Arabic, and the "official working" language of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia and thus has official status and use nationwide. Amharic is also the official or working language of several of the states within the federal system, including Amhara Region and the multi-ethnic Southern Nations, Nationalities, and People's Region, among others. It has been the working language of government, the military, and of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church throughout modern times. Outside Ethiopia, Amharic is the language of some 2.7 million emigrants (notably in Egypt, Israel and Sweden), and is spoken in Eritrea by some Eritreans of the pre-independence generation and younger deportees from Ethiopia. It is written, with some adaptations, with the Ge'ez alphabet (first used for the language of the same name)—called, in Ethiopian Semitic languages, ፊደል fidel ("alphabet", "letter", or "character") and አቡጊዳ abugida (from the first four letters in Greek order, also giving rise to the modern linguistic term abugida).

L’amharique (/amaregna) est la deuxième langue sémitique la plus parlée au monde, après l’arabe. Il est parlé en Éthiopie par une majorité de la population, soit comme langue maternelle soit comme langue seconde ou véhiculaire. Il a dans ce pays le statut de langue de travail mais a perdu son statut de langue officielle.

Das Amharische (Eigenbezeichnung አማርኛ amarɨɲɲa) ist eine äthiosemitische Sprache, die im nördlichen Zentraläthiopien als Muttersprache von den Amharen gesprochen wird. Daneben ist sie die bedeutendste Verkehrssprache Äthiopiens und wird in allen Städten des Landes gesprochen. Sie ist laut Volkszählung von 1994 mit 17,34 Mio. (34,48%, zitiert nach ) Sprechern die äthiopische Sprache mit den meisten Muttersprachlern. Außerdem wird sie von sehr vielen Einwohnern Äthiopiens als Zweitsprache gesprochen.

Język amharski (አማርኛ, ’ämarəña, amhara) – język semicki z grupy etiopskiej, rodziny języków afroazjatyckich (chamito-semickich) z silnym wpływem substratu kuszyckiego. Urzędowy język Etiopii używany jako język ojczysty przez około 18 mln osób. Jako język dworu królewskiego zastąpił pod koniec XIII wieku język gyyz. Ma spółgłoski ejektywne w miejsce ogólnosemickich faryngalizowanych.

Het Amhaars (Amhaars: አማርኛ) is een Semitische taal die in Ethiopië gesproken wordt en daar tevens de officiële werktaal is. Het wordt hoofdzakelijk gesproken in de regio Amhara en in de hoofdstad Addis Abeba. De etnische groep die de taal als moedertaal spreken, worden de Amharen genoemd. De taal wordt door zo'n 27 miljoen als eerste taal gesproken en door zo'n 7 tot 15 miljoen als tweede taal. De taal wordt ook buiten Ethiopië gesproken, vooral in Eritrea, Egypte, Israël en Zweden. Het is na het het Arabisch, de meest gesproken Semitische taal van de wereld.
