American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU)

A national organization, founded in1920, that seeks to enforce and preserve the rights and civil libertiesguaranteed by the federal and state constitutions. Its activities includehandling cases opposing allegedly repressive legislation, and publishingreports and informational pamphlets.
