Amazon Standard Identification Number

The Amazon Standard Identification Number (ASIN) is a product identification number used by Amazon.com and its partners. Despite the name, it is not a "standard" outside of Amazon.com, but is used consistently for referencing products within the Amazon network of sites. The words "Amazon Standard" should therefore be read as "standard internal to Amazon", rather than "external standard initiated by Amazon".

Die Amazon Standard Identification Number (Amazon Standard-Identifikationsnummer, kurz ASIN) ist eine Produktidentifikationsnummer, die von den Amazon-Versandhäusern eingeführt wurde.Die ASIN dient insbesondere als Hilfe für Geschäftspartner im Internet, die seit 1996 im Amazon Associates program unterstützt werden, und stellt im Gegensatz zur ISBN keinen internationalen Standard dar. Jedes Produkt, das auf einer der Amazon-Webseiten angeboten wird, erhält eine eindeutige ASIN. Bei Büchern, die eine ISBN besitzen, entspricht die ASIN der ISBN. Büchern ohne ISBN und allen anderen Artikeln wird eine ASIN zugeordnet.

ASIN (Amazon Standard Identification Number) - numer identyfikacyjny produktu używany przez internetowy serwis Amazon.com i jego partnerów.Pomimo nazwy (ang. standard = norma) użycie ASIN nie jest znormalizowane, ale ASIN jest konsekwentnie używany w serwisie Amazon.com. Słowo standard nie oznacza więc tutaj "normy zainicjowanej przez Amazon.com i stosowanej zewnętrznie", a raczej "wewnętrzną normę Amazon.com".Każdy produkt sprzedawany na Amazon.com posiada unikatowy numer ASIN. Dla książek posiadających ISBN numer ASIN jest równoznaczny z kodem ISBN. Dla książek bez ISBN i wszystkich innych produktów również przypisuje się ASIN.

Ved bøger, der har et ISBN-nummer, er ASIN det samme som ISBN-nummeret. Bøger uden ISBN-nummer og alle andre varer tildeles et ASIN.ASIN kan ses på den enkelte vares produktside.
