Amaranthus blitum

Amaranthus blitum (syn. Amaranthus lividus) is a species in economically-important plant family Amaranthaceae. Native to the Mediterranean region, the species is commonly known as purple amaranth (historically also as blite) and, although weedy, is eaten in many parts of the world.
