Altar, Sonora

Altar is both a small city and the surrounding  municipal area in the  Mexican state of Sonora. It is located in the northeast region of the state at . Surrounding municipalities are Sáric, Tubutama,  Atil, Trincheras, Pitiquito, Caborca and Oquitoa. The northern boundary is with the United States of America state of Arizona.
