Alsace ( ; Alsatian: Elsàss ; , pre-1996: Elsaß, ; ) is the fifth-smallest of the 27 regions of France in land area (8,280 km²), and the smallest in metropolitan France. It is also the seventh-most densely populated region in France and third most densely populated region in metropolitan France, with ca. 220 inhabitants per km² (total population in 2006: 1,815,488; 1 January 2008 estimate: 1,836,000). Alsace is located on France's eastern border and on the west bank of the upper Rhine adjacent to Germany and Switzerland. The political, economic and cultural capital as well as largest city of Alsace is Strasbourg. Because that city is the seat of dozens of international organizations and bodies, Alsace is politically one of the most important regions in the European Union.

Das Elsass (früher auch Elsaß, frz. Alsace [], elsässisch  's Elsass) ist eine Region im Osten Frankreichs. Es erstreckt sich über den westlichen Teil der Oberrheinischen Tiefebene („vom Rhein bis zu den Vogesen“), reicht jedoch im Nordwesten mit dem Krummen Elsass bis auf das lothringische Plateau. Es grenzt im Norden und Osten an Deutschland und im Süden an die Schweiz. Das Elsass ist die flächenmäßig kleinste Region auf dem französischen Festland und hat rund 1,8 Millionen Einwohner. Die französische Verwaltungsregion (Région Alsace) wurde 1973 geschaffen. Sie setzt sich aus den beiden Départements Bas-Rhin und Haut-Rhin zusammen. Ihre Hauptstadt ist Straßburg.

L'Alsace (s'Elsass en alsacien) est une région culturelle, linguistique, historique, et administrative de l’Est de la France métropolitaine. D'un point de vue administratif, l’Alsace est divisée en deux départements, le Bas-Rhin au nord et le Haut-Rhin au sud. La région est gérée par un conseil régional comme les autres régions de France métropolitaine mais toutefois de nombreux domaines sont régis par le droit local alsacien-mosellan  qui prime sur le droit général français. Le conseil régional est localisé à Strasbourg, qui est aussi la plus grande ville (aire urbaine de ) de la région, suivie par Mulhouse (aire urbaine de ), et Colmar (aire urbaine de ).

Alsace (tyska: Elsass) är en region i Frankrike vid gränsen mot Tyskland mellan Schweiz och Belgien. Rhen är gränsflod, och den största staden är Strasbourg.

Alzacja (fr. Alsace, niem. Elsass) – kraina historyczna i region administracyjny we Francji, położony w północno-wschodniej części kraju nad Renem. Składa się z dwóch departamentów: Bas-Rhin na północy oraz Haut-Rhin na południu. Historyczna Alzacja obejmowała jeszcze niewielki obszar wokół miasta Belfort, który obecnie tworzy departament Territoire-de-Belfort.
