Puttanesca sauce - usually served with spaghetti - originated in the Isle of Ischia, near Naples, and is made by cooking tomatoes with olives, capers, garlic, chilies, anchovies, and olive oil. The word puttanesca is derived from puttana, a colloquial term for 'prostitute.'
