Alien is a culturally influential 1979science fictionhorror film, directed by Ridley Scott and starring Sigourney Weaver. The title references the main antagonist, a highly aggressive and undocumented extraterrestrial life-form. During a seemingly routine investigation of an unknown planetary signal, a crew member of the space-faring towing vehicle Nostromo is attacked and infected by a young Alien. Soon, the entire crew is threatened after the creature is taken aboard Nostromo, eventually wreaking havoc.
