Alexisonfire

Alexisonfire is a five-piece post-hardcore band that formed in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada in 2001. The band consists of George Pettit (vocals), Dallas Green (guitar/vocals), Wade MacNeil (guitar/vocals), Chris Steele (bass), and Jordan Hastings (drums/percussion).The band describes their music as "the sound of two Catholic high-school girls in mid-knife-fight". This comes from their method of using multiple vocalists: Green providing melodic, soft singing, and MacNeil's implusively sweet punk rock vocals on one side, with Pettit's polar-opposite explosive screaming on the other. This management of good-versus-evil style of music and writing is unique to the band. When the band came out of the underground like an "utterly captivating car-accident-in-progress" in late 2001, it was enough to impress critics and attain a gold certification for their self titled debut album.

Alexisonfire - kanadyjski zespół posthardcore'owy z St. Catherines w Ontario. Powstali w 2001 roku w konsekwencji rozpadu trzech innych zespołów. Cechami charakterystycznymi ich muzyki są melodyjne i dynamiczne gitarowe riffy oraz trzy różne wokale. Nazwa zespołu wywodzi się od Alexis Fire, amerykańskiej striptizerki i aktorki porno. W wyniku nieporozumień co do strony internetowej, ostatecznie powstała nazwa Alexisonfire.

Alexisonfire is een post-hardcore band uit St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada begonnen in 2001. De band heeft 5 leden. Ze omschrijven hun muziek als agressief en vol met energie, en een uniek geluid, vooral dankzij de meerdere extreem verschillende zangers. Dallas Green zorgt voor melodie met zijn zachte zang, George Pettit's is de tegenpool met zijn explosieve geschreeuw, en met ook nog de punk rock zang van Wade MacNeil vormt dit alles een unieke mix. De Band naam moet je uitspreken als "Alexis On Fire" en niet als "Alex Is On Fire". De band naam is een eerbetoon aan de stripper Alexis Fire, Maar dit zorgde voor problemen toen zij hierachter kwam. Ze dreigde met een rechtszaak, maar omdat ze de titel nooit van een handelsmerk voorzien had kwam er niks van haar dreiging.
