Alborz

Alborz (in Persian البرز), also written as Alburz or Elburz, is a mountain range in northern Iran stretching from the borders of Armenia in the northwest to the southern end of the Caspian (Mazandaran) Sea, and ending in the east at the borders of Turkmenistan and Afghanistan. The largest mountain in the Middle East, Mount Damavand, is located in the range.

Alborz (en persan البرز), aussi écrit Elbourz ou Elburz, est une chaîne de montagnes au nord de l'Iran, s'étendant des frontières de l'Arménie au nord-ouest, à la mer Caspienne au sud, jusqu'à l'est aux frontières du Turkménistan et de l'Afghanistan. C'est au sud de la chaîne qu'est situé le plus haut sommet d'Iran, le mont Damavand (5671 m) et la ville de Téhéran.

Elburs (w literaturze angielsko-języcznej Alburz lub Alborz) – pasmo górskie na Wyżynie Irańskiej w północnym Iranie, na południowym brzegu M. Kaspijskiego. Orogeneza alpejska, choć trzon starszy; zbudowane głównie z piaskowców i wapieni. Długość pasma ok. 900 km; najwyższy szczyt Demawend 5604 m n.p.m.

Gli Elburz (in persiano البرز), anche chiamati Alburz o Alborz, sono una catena montuosa nell'Iran settentrionale che si estende nell'Armenia nord-orientale, appena a sud del Caucaso e ai confini dell'Iran con Turkmenistan e Afghanistan. La più alta vetta del medio oriente, il Damavand, si trova proprio in questa catena.
