Alaska Aces

For the Alaska Aces PBA team, see Alaska Aces (PBA). The Alaska Aces are a minor league ice hockey team in Anchorage, Alaska. They were originally part of the West Coast Hockey League, but when the WCHL was absorbed by the East Coast Hockey League in 2003, the team joined the merged ECHL. In 2005, the Aces joined an affiliation with the St. Louis Blues of the National Hockey League and the Peoria Rivermen of the American Hockey League.

Die Alaska Aces sind ein US-amerikanisches Eishockeyteam aus der East Coast Hockey League, welches in Anchorage beheimatet ist. Sie sind als Farmteam Teil der Organisation der St. Louis Blues (NHL) , zu welcher auch die Peoria Rivermen (AHL) gehören.Das Team wurde 1995 unter dem Namen Anchorage Aces gegründet und spielte in der West Coast Hockey League (WCHL). Negativer Höhepunkt der Anchorage Aces war der beinahe finanzielle Ruin. Nur danke einigen lokalen Geschäftsleuten konnte der Club unter neuem Namen in die ECHL eingebracht werden, nachdem diese die WCHL übernommen hatte.
