Al Capone

Alphonse Gabriel Capone (January 17, 1899 –  January 25, 1947), popularly known as Al Capone, was an American gangster who led a crime syndicate dedicated to the smuggling and bootlegging of liquor and other illegal activities during the Prohibition Era of the 1920s and 1930s. Born in Brooklyn, New York, to southwestern Italian emigrants Gabriele and Teresina Capone, Capone began his career in Brooklyn before moving to Chicago and becoming the boss of the criminal organization known as the Chicago Outfit (although his business card reportedly described him as a used furniture dealer).

Alphonse Gabriel (Al) Capone (ital. Alfonso Capone) (* 17. Januar 1899 in Brooklyn, New York, NY, USA; † 25. Januar 1947 in Palm Beach, Florida) war einer der berüchtigtsten Verbrecher Amerikas in den 1920er und 1930er Jahren. Capone kontrollierte die Chicagoer Unterwelt („Chicago Outfit“) und machte seine Geschäfte vor allem in den Bereichen illegales Glücksspiel, Prostitution und während der Prohibitionszeit im illegalen Alkoholhandel. Bis heute ist sein Name auch mit der Bezeichnung Geldwäsche verbunden, da er als erster illegale Einnahmen in Waschsalons investierte und mit dieser Verschleierungsmethode Vorbild für viele Steuerhinterzieher und Betrüger wurde.

BiografiaGli esordi Figlio di emigranti di Castellammare di Stabia (Napoli), il barbiere Gabriele Caponi (il cognome fu modificato forse per errore dall'anagrafe statunitense) e Teresa Raiola, crebbe in un ambiente degradato, avendo presto contatto con piccole gang di microcriminalità minorile, fu espulso dalla scuola dopo aver aggredito e percosso un docente, ed entrò a far parte della banda dei "Five Pointers" di Frankie Yale.
