is a county in Norway, bordering Hedmark, Oppland, Buskerud, Oslo and Østfold; it also has a short border with Sweden (Värmland). Akershus, with more than half a million inhabitants, is the second largest county by population after Oslo. The county is named after Akershus Fortress. The county administration is in Oslo, which is not part of the county per se.

Akershus (von altnordisch akr (Mark) und hús (Haus, hier aber als Burg verstanden)) ist mit 509.000 Einwohnern nach Oslo die zweitgrößte Fylke (Provinz) Norwegens. Akershus ist rund um Oslo gelegen und die einzige Fylke, die ihr Verwaltungszentrum in einer anderen Fylke (Oslo) hat.

Akershus är ett norskt fylke, som gränsar mot Hedmark, Oppland, Buskerud, Oslo, Østfold och Sverige. Akershus har en yta på 4 918 km² och här bor 527 625 invånare (2009). Det administrativa centret är Oslo, trots att Oslo inte är en del av själva fylket. En del av Oslos förorter ligger dock i fylket. I Akershus ligger Eidsvoll där den norska grundlagen undertecknades 17 maj 1814.
